As Aimsiú recognises the value and importance of the parents’ involvement to the success of the child’s program, we require a commitment of 7 hours a week from at least one parent or a combination of both, to conduct the targeted goals in the home setting. Parents have the option to add home tutors to the team, in order to build towards the recommended 20 hours a week. Our Early Intervention program is designed for children between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old.
Aimsiú does not employ home tutors (however you are welcome to source your own home tutors, which we will train on your child's’ specific individual program). Instead Aimsiú allocates one highly qualified Behaviour Specialist to each family, allowing more versatility in program modification on the spot, in weekly sessions with the parent. Weekly sessions with the Behaviour Specialist, accelerates the opportunity to progress skills in a more effective and efficient manner.

Session 1: Initial Consultation with the parents and child present, depending on circumstances.
Session 2: Assessment with parents and child present.
Session 3: Assessment with parents and child present.
Session 4: Probing and implementation of goals to target.
Session 5: Probing and implementation of goals to target.
Session 6: Probing and implementation of goals to target.

Our behaviour support service aims to build on strengths, while encouraging independence. One of our specialist will spend time with you and your child to understand and evaluate challenges and barriers in order to design an effective individualised support plan.
